Have you been assaulted? Are you scared for your safety and the safety of your children? Are you afraid of somebody? Are you afraid to go home? Have you been threatened? Is somebody controlling your money? Do you feel vulnerable? Are you worried that you might be in an abusive relationship? Do you need to secure your home?
Domestic abuse does not have to be physical or sexual, but can also include financial, emotional and psychological abuse, coercive control, harassment and stalking.
Contact us to discuss your case in complete confidentiality. We will first help you to understand how to protect yourself and your children. We can then work towards securing your home and finances. Your safety will be our priority at all times.
Legal Aid is available for cases involving domestic abuse, subject to financial eligibility.
A named member of our family & relationships team will deal with your case.
You will be given clear and focused advice to include what steps can be taken to ensure that you and your children can be made safe at the outset and advised throughout your case including guidance about your position and how much the case will cost, where relevant.
We will keep you fully informed about each stage and any outcomes. Special arrangements can be made for personal meetings and other communication.
Depending on circumstances, we can advise you on taking urgent steps. In particular we can discuss applications for non-molestation orders and occupation orders. We can also refer you to local support services.
Please direct any initial enquiries to Mark Fairchild, Family Team Administrator.
