At Cartridges Law, as local Exeter solicitors, we are great believers in supporting our community. And it’s not something we pay ‘lip service’ to, we encourage all our staff to support causes close to their hearts.
So, whether it’s working on an allotment for Age UK, or running our free legal advice sessions, you can be sure there will be a member of staff from Cartridges Law giving back to their community in some way.
We’ve got a team taking part in the Exeter Legal Walk on June 13. The event sees members of the local legal profession and advice sector taking part in a sponsored 10k walk to raise funds for local advice charities, and to raise awareness of protecting people’s rights and promoting equal access to justice for all. Last year the event, which is supported by the Devon and Somerset Law Society, raised more than £2,500.
Our office mascot Betsey the Tibetan Terrier will be taking part in the Legal Walk with her owner Ros Davies, who is our probate specialist at Cartridges Law. Betsey is a familiar (canine) face at lots of events that we attend, including Exeter Pride, and along with Ros she recently took part in the Great British Dog Walk on Haldon. The event is held to raise funds for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, a charity which trains hearing dogs for deaf people, to provide independence and companionship.
The walk took place in Haldon Forest as part of Deaf Awareness Week and people were able to choose from a 3km or 8km option. Ros said: ‘I’ve done the walk before, it’s just such a good cause and a really lovely event, walking in beautiful surroundings with like-minded people, you get something from it, as well as raising funds for the charity’.
Ros added: ‘Next up is the Exeter Legal Walk, this supports advice charities and raises awareness of the problems some people face when getting access to justice, something we care deeply about here at Cartridges Law.’
