Cartridges at Exeter LGBT Pride

Cartridges were proud to be part of the first ever Exeter LGBT Pride march on Saturday 27th March. This was led ceremonially through the city by the local fire brigade, followed by a 50ft rainbow flag. This caught the attention of the bemused shoppers, many of whom broke in to spontaneous applause. The marchers included members of the Devon and Cornwall constabulary in full uniform with the addition of colourful flower garlands. Bringing up the rear were a bevy of glamorous uniformed air hostesses who hurried to keep up in their killer heels.

There was a long and friendly queue to get in to the Phoenix in Gandy Street where the many stall holders were ready to greet the marchers and display their services.

Cartridges welcomed hundreds of visitors throughout the day to our stand at the Exeter Phoenix. We offered special Cartridges cup cakes which were very popular indeed.

Bridget Garrood and Penny Scott expertly co-hosted a legal workshop with 2 other local solicitors and were able to cover many of the tricky LGBT parenting issues which were raised. This is a fast changing area of the law and we were able to announce with pleasure that the Equality Bill had passed its 3rd reading in the house of Lords only days beforehand.

The first 500 lucky people to arrive at the Phoenix were sporting the colourful goodie bags which were sponsored by Cartridges and bear our logo. Inside were all sorts of goodies, including our special wallet-sized commemorative cards. Both these and the cloth bags are bound to become collectors items so watch out for them on eBay!
